1. Introduction

1205 Consulting Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, website visitors, and prospective clients. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information when you interact with our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

Information you provide directly. When you submit our contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, request a resource, or complete one of our assessment tools, you voluntarily provide personal information. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company name, role, and any details you share in your message or form responses.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors interact with our content, measure the performance of our marketing, and improve usability. These include:

  • First-party consent, attribution, and experiment cookies — a one-year consent-choice cookie records accept or decline so the choice can be honoured before page scripts run. Where express consent is required, attribution and experiment cookies are not created until tracking is accepted. Elsewhere, unless tracking is declined, a 90-day HTTP-only first-touch cookie may record campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers, referring URL, first landing path, and timestamp for enquiry attribution. On pages participating in a site experiment, anonymous session and variant cookies may persist for up to 30 days to keep the page experience consistent. Declining tracking prevents these attribution and experiment cookies from being created and clears prior values.
  • Vercel Web Analytics — cookie-free page-view measurement used to understand aggregate traffic, including pages and routes viewed, referrers, country, device type, operating system, and browser. Vercel uses a request-derived daily hash to distinguish visits; we do not send form-field values to Vercel Web Analytics.
  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregated site analytics (page views, session duration, event interactions such as tool completions and form submissions).
  • Google Ads conversion tracking — limited conversion metadata that excludes form-field values, such as whether a confirmed form submission or meeting booking occurred and the associated service category. We keep Google's ad_user_data consent denied and do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, organization names, messages, or other form responses for Enhanced Conversions or advertising audience matching.
  • Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) — conversion measurement for our Microsoft Advertising campaigns (e.g., recording when a form is submitted so we can evaluate ad performance).
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session recordings and heatmaps used to identify usability issues. Sensitive form inputs are masked by default.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag — conversion measurement and (when active) audience support for LinkedIn advertising campaigns.
  • Basic server logs — IP address and page requests recorded for security, debugging, and performance purposes.

How consent works on this site. For visitors in Canada outside Québec, Google Analytics, advertising measurement, Microsoft, and LinkedIn tags operate under implied consent, with the disclosure on this page and the opt-outs below. For visitors in Québec and the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Microsoft UET, Microsoft Clarity, and LinkedIn tags do not run until you expressly accept them through the consent banner. First-party attribution and experiment cookies are also withheld in those regions until acceptance. Google's analytics and advertising storage defaults to denied there until you accept. Google ad user data remains denied in every region, including after acceptance. Vercel Web Analytics operates separately as cookie-free aggregate traffic measurement and is not controlled by the advertising-cookie preference. Declining does not limit access to site content.

You can also opt out at any time using your browser's privacy controls, a tracker-blocking extension, or the providers' own mechanisms: Google Ads Settings, Google Analytics opt-out, LinkedIn ads opt-out, Microsoft ad settings, and AdChoices Canada.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, assess how we may assist you, and deliver our consulting services. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information you provide with third parties for their marketing purposes. In particular, contact details and free text entered in our forms are not sent to advertising platforms for ad matching or audience creation. We share submitted information only with service providers needed to process the request, deliver a requested resource, or operate the engagement, subject to appropriate obligations. Separately, the measurement services listed above receive limited browsing, device, and conversion metadata; those analytics events exclude submitted contact details and free text.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months unless a client engagement begins, in which case data is retained per the terms of the engagement agreement.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. Our website is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted securely. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Canadian privacy legislation (including PIPEDA), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@1205consulting.com. We will respond within 30 days.
