Who we work with

The credential profile.

The bench is for senior practitioners — people who can run an Ontario workplace investigation independently from intake through a written report an independent reviewer can follow.

Designation
CHRL, AWI, CAWI, or an Ontario-licensed employment / labour lawyer. Equivalent senior credentials considered case-by-case.
Experience
Demonstrable track record investigating Ontario workplace matters — harassment, bullying, discrimination, code-of-conduct, and policy breaches.
Coverage
Ontario-based or with active Ontario practice. Comfortable with in-person interviews province-wide when the matter requires it.
Availability
Capacity to take on additional independent matters alongside your existing book of business. Cadence is matter-by-matter, not retainer.
How engagements work

Scoped. Defined. Your name on the file.

  1. Intake and scope

We triage the inbound matter, confirm fit with your designation and capacity, and propose scope. You see the matter before you accept it.

  2. Scoped engagement, not retainer

Each matter is a scoped dollar fee approved before work begins. No open-ended hours, no surprise variances. The scope sheet is in writing.

  3. You are the named investigator

Your name appears on the engagement letter and final report. 1205 handles client relationship, intake, contracting, and administration; the investigative work is yours.

  4. Reporting standards

Written reports follow procedural-fairness conventions: balanced findings, documented evidence, reasoning tied to the evidence, plain-English summary for non-legal audiences.

Standards we expect

The bar.

Every matter we route is held to the same standards. We expect the same of every investigator on the bench — at intake, through the process, and in the final report.

Independence
No prior relationship with parties to the matter. Conflicts checked before acceptance, disclosed in the engagement letter, and reaffirmed at report stage.
Procedural fairness
Notice of allegations in writing, full opportunity to respond, balanced weight of evidence, findings tied to particulars rather than impressions.
Written report quality
Findings supported by evidence, contradictions reconciled or explained, precise neutral language, and a summary a non-legal reader can follow.
Turnaround discipline
Realistic timelines proposed at scope, status updated weekly, draft delivered when promised. Slippage flagged early, not at the deadline.
